Single nunchaku (or simply "singles"), as opposed to double nunchaku, refers to the use of a single nunchaku in one hand. Single nunchaku is often the starting point of incoming freestyle nunchaku performers, and it is often preferred over double nunchaku even by advanced practitioners due to a greater versatility for techniques requiring two hands.
